A lock that is installed but not commissioned will generate support tickets for a year. This is the sequence that prevents most of them.
Before you close the door
Check the body is square, the spindle length matches the door thickness, and the cables are not pinched at the hinge side.
First power-up
Set the master code, add one administrator fingerprint and one card, then test each method three times with the door open.
Handing and anti-pinch
Set the handle orientation for that specific door, then test the anti-pinch function with a hand in the frame path.
Network and app
Bind the lock to the app, set the time zone, and confirm the region matches the market. Test one remote unlock and one one-time code.
Handover
Show the customer the emergency key location, the USB-C port and the low-battery warning — and write the admin code somewhere they will not lose it.
Takeaway
Twenty minutes of commissioning saves twenty service calls.
